I don't really know how else to begin, other than just starting with saying that Fox News ruined my life and the relationships with my parents. Recently, the Charlie Kirk situation poured gas on the fire, igniting a flame under my parents' asses to start calling for "civil war" and to begin violently fighting "them."
I miss my parents and the tenderness they used to embody. I miss their loving gazes and kind words. The people left behind are no longer the parents that raised me, but entirely different people.
People who won't look away from a Fox News broadcast to tell me goodbye or embrace me as I leave. People that default to anger as their primary emotion. People that have no curiosity, but only fear.
I have begun grieving them as if they have passed. My husband is going down the same road, and I'm truly frightened by this all. My world has truly begun to come unglued, and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
In sum, Fox News stole my family from me and stole my sanity. I endlessly miss my parents and the life I had before. I miss the person who I was before the nonstop grief washed over me. I just miss my family.
